Hi! I'm Toby, a local in Te Anau, Fiordland - celebrating marriages with couples across this area, as well as Queenstown, Central Otago, Invercargill & wider Southland.
Beside me here is my much better half Katelyn, and after 15 years we have three beautiful children - Luka, Oakley & Autumn.
As a registered independent marriage celebrant, I believe every story deserves to be told in a way that feels genuine, relaxed, and completely you.
I work closely with each couple to create a ceremony that reflects who you are and not a generic script.
My role is to guide you through the process with ease, take care of the legal side of things, and make sure your ceremony feels natural for both you and your guests.
How the Ceremony Journey Works
A simple step-by-step process designed to take you from our first hello to the moment you say 'I do'.
Step 01
First Hello & Your Story
We share an initial zoom call or in person catch up to see if I am the right fit for you. No cost, no commitments!
We collaborate to weave your unique story and couple experience into a bespoke ceremony.
Step 02
Legal Essentials & Planning
I'll guide you through New Zealand's legal requirements and marriage licence paperwork with ease.
We will make sure you have everything you'll need at the ceremony such as a PA system or witnesses organised.
Step 03
Rehearsal *
If you are planning to have a rehearsal, I will be present and walk all parties through the essentials while keeping the magic for the next day.
A Rehearsal often helps to calm nerves and let the bridal party & witnesses know what they are to do.

Step 04
"I Do" & Paperwork
I am your guide throughout the ceremony, naturally taking you through each stage while keeping it enjoyable & relaxed.
Although your day is over, I arrange the official paperwork to be processed with no work from you needed.
My Fees - Bespoke
I offer the same, tailored and full bespoke package to all couples. If you are looking to elope, or a much more simple process - see here.
I always start with an initial meeting in person, or over video for you to make sure I am the right fit for you. There is no cost to this, and if I am not suited, I wish you your happily ever after and make another recommendation!
The Bespoke - $650 base

Travel to meetings & ceremony within 25km of Te Anau.
Add-On's & Travel
Travel after 25km for in-person meetings or ceremony - $0.90 per km
Rehearsal add-on - $250 + travel / accommodation if needed.
Microphone & speaker system for small - medium ceremony (0 - 60 people) - $150. Note - your wedding venue may already have this.
Advanced sound system for larger weddings - $POA. Note - your wedding venue may already have this.
Other customisations or organising is simply a discussion & agreement between us, anything is possible!
Legal requirements
It is a legal requirement to give notice of Intended Marriage or Civil Union to the Department of Internal Affairs in New Zealand, and apply for a Marriage Licence, this cost is currently $150. A marriage certificate is $33 per copy, and most couples would like two copies.
I guide you through this process from start to finish and I take care of the document legalities during and after the ceremony. All you need to do is keep an eye out on your Marriage Certificate in the mailbox!
My Fees - Elopement / Simple
We can meet in person, phone call or by video, or you can have me turn up on the day.
